The Honeybush (Heuningbos in Afrikaans, scientific name Cyclopia), is a kind of plant of the Fabaceae family, usually used as an herbal tea. It grows in various meridional areas of South Africa, and is apparented to rooibos. The Honeybush takes its name from the fact that the fragrance of its flowers recalls the one of honey. Its taste is close to the taste of rooibos, but sweeter. Organic product.

Theine free, this product is not "tea", its has a low level of tannins, and is riche in minerals and oligo-elements (iron, potassium, calcium, boron, phosphorus, azote, copper, aluminium, zinc, magnesium, manganese and sodium). Researches have shown that the Honeybush contains polyphenols (fighting oxydization). It is used in South Africa against  colds and cough. It has a soothing effect on the central nervous system.

The Honeybush is also known for:

  • being very soothing,
  • fighting against constipation,
  • helping the regulation of the hormonal cycle,
  • reducing the risks of ostheoporosis,
  • having antimicrobial properties,
